Orthodontics and Interceptive Orthodontics
Having straight, healthy teeth is important for the health of your child's mouth, both now and in the future. That's why orthodontic assessments, and treatments if necessary, are so important. Orthodontics is simply the study of how the teeth align in the mouth and what the “bite” (the way teeth align when the upper and lower jaws are brought together) looks like.
Invisalign Certified Provider
We are certified providers of the Invisalign system for straightening of teeth and correction of bite problems. Invisalign is a convenient and discrete way to re-align teeth, and is especially popular with adult patients. Invisalign uses a clear brace that is molded to fit your teeth perfectly to slowly re-align your teeth, giving you a naturally straighter smile that you can be confident about.
We offer a caring, gentle service that recognizes how real and frightening a dental fear can be. Sometimes you may need a little help to get through a procedure which is where the carefully planned use of anesthetic comes in. We are fully qualified to administer IV sedation for dental procedures, a practice known as “twilight sleep” or “sleep dentistry”. Whether you are suffering with a needle fear, dental phobia or an exaggerated gag reflex that makes dental work difficult for you, we can explore many options.
If you have lost a tooth, whether due to trauma or decay, a dental implant is a secure way of replacing the tooth that will give you a fully functioning tooth that will blend in with the rest of your mouth. In the past, missing teeth were nearly always replaced by either a denture or a bridge (a false tooth that was joined to the teeth on either side). In recent years, dental implants have been developed as a way of fixing a new tooth directly to the gum, keeping it strong and stable.
We understand how important your dentures are, not only for chewing and speaking, but for confidence and giving you a smile you can feel confident in. Dentures are subject to wear and tear through every day use, and sometimes they will become damaged and need replacing. When that happens, you want to get your dentures fixed as soon as possible. That's why we provide a swift and high quality denture repair and reline service.
A white smile is a real confidence booster, making your teeth look brighter and healthier, and removing unsightly stains. We are pleased to offer BriteSmile tooth whitening, a simple and effective tooth whitening treatment that will restore your teeth to a natural healthy whiteness. As well as making your teeth look good and boosting your confidence, BriteSmile can be used before procedures such as dental crowns to help the natural color of your teeth blend in better with the implants.
Decay, damage and erosion can all cause problems for your teeth, weakening them and making them look unsightly. Cosmetic dentistry uses high quality crowns or veneers to restore your smile to health. What Are Crowns And Veneers? A crown is used to cover most or all of a damaged tooth and is fitted over the tooth after it has been carefully filed down, while a veneer is a thin layer of tooth-colored material that is bonded to the front of the tooth
If the inside of your tooth has become damaged or infected, a root canal treatment can be used to save the tooth. Root canals have a bad reputation as being very difficult and painful, but in actual fact a root canal can be completed in around two sittings, with local anesthetic keeping you comfortable throughout the procedure. What Is A Root Canal?
One-Visit Porcelain Crowns (CEREC)
Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC) is a computer aided design method developed at the University of Zurich in 1980 for constructing ceramic tooth restorations that could be effectively installed in one visit (hence, “chairside”). The CEREC process is remarkably efficient and has made once visit porcelain crowns possible. The dentist first uses an intraoral camera to capture the necessary images to input into a computer program that then digitally constructs the tooth so that then dentist can create the porcelain crown necessary for the specific tooth that needs to be repaired.
X-rays are a necessity for modern dentistry as they offer insight into problems that are not visible simply by observing the mouth externally. Thanks to advances in technology, digital x-rays only expose the patient to 20 percent of the radiation that their predecessor, the film x-ray, exposed patients to. Digital x-rays can show hidden teeth (such as wisdom, permanent or extra teeth), bone loss, and cavities that would not be apparent without x-ray technology.
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Wisdom teeth are adult molars (back teeth) that come in later in life, usually around the age of 18 – 21. Often a wisdom tooth will come in just as the other teeth do, with no problems. However, sometimes a wisdom tooth may not come in properly, causing pain and other problems in your mouth. If this happens to you, having the wisdom tooth extracted can ease your problems and prevent further pain.
